Below is a brief summary and expectations of the Burzynski Clinic: Personalized Targeted Therapy at the Burzynski Clinic is implemented in the following manner: • Employing the most current available technology to help identify the genes (targets) that are helping grow and sustain the cancer through sophisticated blood tests and cancerous tissue testing. • Based on the extensive testing results, a combination of FDA-approved targeted medications (and possibly low-dose chemotherapy if needed) is selected which work to destroy these identified targets; thereby selectively destroying what is activating and sustaining the patient’s cancer. That tissue testing is done by the FoundationOne in Cambridge, Massachusetts; please visit their website to find out what is the nature and benefit of this test www.foundationone.com Dr. Burzynski, after reviewing medical records, will decide if tissue testing at FoundationOne laboratory will be necessary. All of our primary medications generally work by destroying cancer cells without killing normal cells. The manner in which the medications are administered may vary depending on which medications are right for your therapy. Our therapies are cutting edge targeted therapies which shut the cancer down at the genetic level, and it works throughout the entire body. The personalized therapies can be used at any stage in a patient’s cancer. We treat patients from the early stages to the most advanced stages where the cancer has metastasized to other organs. Having previous therapy or surgery is not a requirement at our clinic. However, patients with early stages of Breast Cancer that can be cured by surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy are encouraged to have such standardized treatment first. In fact, our cutting edge therapies can be administered before, during or even after other therapy. Our therapies can also be used in conjunction with a traditional treatment such as cytotoxic chemotherapy. The Burzynski Clinic uses a targeted therapy which works by affecting the cancer cells, therefore minimizing typical side effects. In addition, the therapy works in a systemic manner which is very important for our patients, as in the majority of cancer has already metastasized. There are some physical requirements that our doctors have put in place to determine if our therapies are suitable for you. Patients that would like to schedule an appointment with the Burzynski Clinic are encouraged to give our clinic 1 to 2 weeks advanced notice. This is to ensure you and/or our staff have enough time to obtain all of your medical records, films, and other pertinent information from the clinic and/or hospital that has been providing you treatment. You may sign the “Medical Records Release” form to give our clinic the right to request your medical records for you. If you already have all of the necessary medical records, and other pertinent information, you may send them to us and an appointment can be established for you in as little as a few working days. Medical Records that are required for this initial evaluation: • All pathology/biopsy reports • Oncologist/treating doctor notes (especially chemotherapy flow sheet & last dictation) • Operative/surgical reports • Radiology reports (CT, PET, MRI, Echocardiogram, etc. and Mammograms if applicable) • Laboratory reports (most recent CBC, CMP, UA, Molecular/Genetic Tests and Tumor Markers) IMPORTANT: If there are any recent radiological films/CD’s that you have not already delivered to our clinic, it is imperative that you bring them with you to your visit so that the doctors will be able to review them. Upon receipt, we will assemble a chart and forward it to our team of doctors who will then review your medical information in its entirety to ensure that the doctors are prepared for your visit. All patients are required to come to our clinic in Houston, Texas for a consultation. During your consultation visit, the doctor will provide recommendations on which of our therapies will be most suitable for your care. Each patient receives an individualized treatment regimen which consists of a combination of medications. If you decided to initiate therapy, you will be able to begin the therapy within 2 to 5 days, unless additional testing is required. Whenever you decide to initiate therapy, you will be asked to stay in Houston, Texas for a period of time which can be anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks, on an outpatient basis. The reason for the extended stay in Houston, Texas, is so that you can become stabilized on the prescribed medications. Once your optimal dosage level has been met, you will be discharged from the clinic and you are able to return home to continue treatment with the assistance of your local physician (PCP, Family Practice, Internist, Pediatrician, or Oncologist). Before you leave you will be meeting with our monitoring staff who will be contacting you weekly to follow upon your progress. This will be part of your regular monthly case management. Each month you will reorder your medications as needed to continue your therapy. Many of our patients are taking oral treatment, which is not too difficult or invasive to continue at home. The average treatment time for most patients generally ranges from 4 to 12 months. There will be follow up visits periodically that will be scheduled approximately every 2 to 3 months. These follow up visits are vital for our doctors to monitor your progress. The doctors should be able to determine your initial response to the medications on your first follow up visit. As a courtesy to our patients, we will file your charges to your insurance company. Treatment plans may include several medications. Sometimes the costs for the medications can be high, because the FDA has just recently approved some of these medications. However, since the Burzynski Clinic is not contracted with any insurance carriers, at this time, there is no definite set cost for your treatment due to the variation of medications involved; however, below is a range of the estimated costs. There is no guarantee that your insurance company will pay the claim. Since we are classified as “out of network” we are unable to accept Medicare, Medicaid and any HMO insurance, and require each patient to pay deposits for all services rendered. Patient must be able to pay: Financial Requirements: a. $1,250.00 - Consultation fee b. $13,500 - Medical & Laboratory deposit c $15,000.00 - $25,000.00 - Medication costs (in some cases cost may exceed this range) d. $4,500.00 - Monthly Case Management Fee For those who may qualify: Antineoplastons (ANP) are naturally occurring peptides demonstrating ability to re-program cancer cell without destroying normal cells. Due to their low-toxicity and anti-cancer activity, ANP represent a revolutionary avenues in cancer research. ANP are components of a complex biochemical defense system that controls cancer in the human body and are reproduced synthetically for medicinal use. Dr. Burzynski sees cancer as a disease of cellular information processing. Antineoplastons seem to correct the program inside the cell and can change a cancerous cell back to a normal cell. Dr. Burzynski described a study carried out at the Department of Pathology for the Department of Defense in Bethesda, Maryland. The study showed that using antineoplaston AS2-1 in tissue culture caused cancer cells to change back into normal cells after approximately two to three days. Healthy cells specialize as they develop. After a specific number of cellular divisions, these specialized cells are programmed to die. Cancer cells, due to incorrect programming, undergo uncontrolled cellular proliferation. They keep multiplying without limit until they finally kill the patient. Dr. Burzynski has postulated that antineoplastons reprogram cancer cells so they behave like normal cells, with a limited life span. The antineoplastons have to be administered continually and for a long enough time to allow the previously cancerous cells to go through their life cycle to cellular death. If the therapy is slowed down or stopped too soon, the cell (which still has an incorrect program) will start behaving like a cancerous cell again ORDER HERE pdf 1 2 3 Supplements Diet Equipment Gut health Clean Eating Detox Anti-stress Energy Clinics Other notes
