HOW TO REPROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

combine a clear intention with an elevated emotion you are changing your biology. Sometimes we get stuck in life and don’t know what to do. We want things to be better, we want to be happier but how can we make it happen? The following are some tools to help you get the right mind set to turn your life around. Actively take stock of internal dialogue and change it. – So often our internal dialog sabotages us before we even begin. Sometimes it second guesses our decisions, leading to waffling, other times it is just negative. Whenever you find your internal dialog being negative or indecisive, quiet it down and start a conversation with yourself that counters the negative or indecisive points your internal mind is having and replaces them with positive statements. Then start an internal dialog of positive affirmation. On the rare occasion that your internal dialog comes up with an accurate and relevant point, work to correct the issue with positive action. If learn to pay attention and start doing this, you will find yourself living a happier and more confident life. Don’t blame others. – While I don’t like negatives, this one is an exception. You need to take responsibility for your life and the things that happen in it. I am not going to say that some people won’t try to make your life miserable, but that alone does not absolve you of responsibility. Take control of this part of your life and change it! I once had the most miserable boss in the world. He was not only incompetent, but also a complete jerk. He could come in to our team meetings and start yelling and insulting people, often for things he had wrong. Being the sensitive type, I ended up having a nervous breakdown. Then it occurred to me, I needed to change my reality. I gave myself a month, and found a new job. I am very happy where I am now! I work with wonderful people, have a great boss at a job where my skills, abilities and personality are highly praised. Blaming my old boss for my suffering would not have done anything for me. Rather he was the inspiration that I needed to take my life to the next level, and have a better job for better pay in a company that rewards me for my talents. Have and show gratitude for everything. –I have found an amazing power in this. It not only helps you to reprogram your mind, but it also helps to change the reality you live in. More about this amazing tool in chapter about karma. Continue to learn and grow. – This is one of the things that has allowed me to move past all of the problems I have faced in my life. Having the right mind set is essential too, but the process of learning and growing has given me the skills I have needed to take me to the next level in life. Creative Visualization. – A ton of research has been done on creative visualization, and proven that it is an effective tool towards achieving goals. When you do your visualization, concentrate on the end goal that you want to achieve, not on the steps that it takes to get there. As you learn to visualize your end goals, they become clearer, your belief system becomes stronger and your subconscious mind helps you to find the steps to make that vision a reality. I have done this many time and can tell you that it really works, particularly for creative endeavors! Meditation – The power of meditation is the power of learning how to focus. As you will read later in the chapter, “The Law of Focus” learning how to focus your mind and your efforts will bring vast rewards towards achieving your goals. Subliminal Audio. – A few years ago I was at an all-time low and needed to regain my self-esteem and self-confidence which had eroded away due to life’s dramas. In looking for solutions that could put me in the right mindset, I came across subliminal audios and what a difference they made! They are not a quick fix, but after 3 months of listening to them for a couple hours a day, I had a dramatically improved my self-confidence and self-esteem which helped me to overcome the other issues I was dealing with in life. Mind Mapping / Brain Storming. – These tools are about helping you find solutions to your problems. I have read several authors who recommend spending at least half an hour a day spitting out any idea that comes to mind regardless of what it is associated with. Generally you want to start with a specific topic or problem. Clear your mind and focus for a moment on that topic or problem, then just start writing down whatever comes to mind. Don’t judge anything. Save these ideas so that you can go over them later. Sometimes the random stuff you write down in a brainstorming session will make sense to you weeks or months later when your conscious mind is able to put the dots together. Other times, your previous brainstorming sessions will trigger new ideas that lead to the solutions you need. By doing this, you allow your subconscious mind to have a greater voice is looking for the solutions you need to help you achieve your goals and dreams. I use these tools on a regular basis and have found amazing insights and opportunities that I would have otherwise missed! Give it a try. I think you will like the results. It is also a lot of fun to see what ideas you might come up with when you just start writing stuff down. Make the Change – Take Action Now! Once you know where you are at, it’s time to change it. 8 Daily Rituals Most Millionaires Have in Common Author: Jessica Kane November 6, 2018 Wealth 8 Daily Rituals Most Millionaires Have in Common A survey by Fidelity Investments found eight out of every 10 people with net worth of a million dollars or more built it on their own. The typical self-made millionaire possesses habits and rituals exhibiting discipline, active living and constant engagement of the mind. Early Rising The typical millionaire begins the day between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. A survey of 21 financially-successful people reports 89 percent wake up between 4:30 and 7 a.m. Only 11 percent slept in until 8 a.m. In Rich Habits: The Daily Success Habits of Wealthy Individuals, Thomas Corley says 44 percent of millionaires wake up three hours before work. Millionaires likely understand that an active early morning can set the tone for a successful day. In these early hours before workplaces open, you’re less likely to encounter distractions for, say, the early-morning exercise, planning the day’s itinerary or tackling important tasks. With few, if any distractions, you can more readily notch accomplishments or successes to boost your positive mood for the remainder of the day. Such an outlook builds confidence for you, especially if you have tackled the more urgent and less desirable matters. Scheduling Life Millionaires run on daily or periodic agendas made either by a task list or a calendar. Corley’s survey found roughly eight in 10 millionaires have a daily to-do list and two out of three millionaires complete 70 percent of the tasks. Whether you list or calendar, the point is organization and providing structure to the day. Scheduling diminishes the time you waste and productivity you lose because of indecision. Reading According to Corley’s study, 86 percent of millionaires love to read. Eight-five percent of them average two books a month. The subjects of their selections psychology, careers, leadership, health and current events, biographies of other millionaires. Eighty-eight percent read at least 30 minutes a day. As you might expect, business and financial literature is included in the millionaire’s reading list. For example, The Financial Times pulls 13 percent of its readership from millionaires. Its readers boast an average annual income of $250,000. Aside from offering strategies for growth of themselves or their businesses, reading expands vocabulary and the base of knowledge. These become the tools for millionaires to compete. Listening Rituals For millionaires, listening habits focus on educational or self-improvement content. This may include investment, personal finance or business topics. According to Corley’s study, approximately 63 percent of millionaires listen to audio books, including while driving. Podcasts are also part of the listening menu, especially for those while running or cycling. Exercise When you exercise, especially aerobically, you funnel oxygen to your brain and other areas of the body. This supplies energy and nutrients that increase brain activity and performance. Studies testify to the effects of exercise on financial health. Roughly three quarters of millionaires undertake aerobics at least four days a week, versus only 23 percent of the poor. Psychology Today magazine reports on a study of 5,402 twin males in Finland, their exercise habits and earnings over a fifteen-year period. The findings showed the more active group made 14 to 17 percent more than the less active. Food Rituals Typically, seven-digit earners don’t skimp on breakfast. That doesn’t necessarily mean traditional fare such as sausage, bacon or cow’s milk. These foods contain high fats and cholesterol which do not provide needed energy. Instead, they operate over time as sludge in the blood stream that prevents oxygen and nutrient flow. Rye toast and oatmeal afford sources of carbohydrates low in glucose that can spike blood sugar. Proteins can come from bars or other low-fat foods. Millionaires might also include fresh fruits or smoothies for energy. Healthy eating rituals continue throughout the day. For example, healthy snacks, such as fruits, vegetables and protein bars, supply energy in the lulls between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. The millionaire’s snack normally doesn’t include potato chips or high-sugar chocolate bars or candies. Networking According to Coley, 79 percent of millionaires networked, or reached out, to similarly-situated people. The participation rate for the poor is one in seven. Networking with those of high incomes and net worth exposes you to those who hire, invest and make business deals. Don’t restrict, though, your view of networks to a pipeline for job or business opportunities. Business leaders, your teachers or professors and other millionaires can mentor you in your professional journey. Reflecting Contemplating successes and fails can breed future success. Typically, millionaires devote a block of time each day for self-reflection on their efforts, results and areas for improvement. The quiet time might spark new ideas for ventures. The expectation is that we have to wait until we are one of them to spend time around them. And that is just not true. Let’s look at some possibilities: Attend book signings – I recently attended a book signing for Michael Hyatt’s new book and got to meet Stu McLaren, Ken Davis and a bunch of other top leaders in business. Cost for the event – zero Watch for business breakfasts (I attend a couple a month – free because they are sponsored by local businesses.) Our local Entrepreneur Center provides a monthly Entrepreneur’s Coffee, a monthly coffee meetup for Nashville’s business leaders to network and hear stories about entrepreneurship and starting businesses. No charge to attend. Lunch and Learn events. The Scarlett Leadership Institute provides monthly Lunch & Leadership events – free for anyone who wants to hang around leaders. Join your local Chamber of Commerce Become a member of your local Rotary Club Attend concerts – here in Nashville there are multiple free concerts in any given week Spend time at the Country Club – I am a member of the Vanderbilt Legends Club. While I don’t golf that gives me dining privileges in their exclusive clubhouse. I eat there 2-3 times a week. The meals are priced comparably to O’Charleys or TGIF. I see people like our mayor, Darrell Waltrip, Vince Gill, Gary Chapman, the president of the local college, authors, and many others. My cost for that exclusive membership – zero. I just pay for my meals – that’s it. So rather than popping into Logan’s with the mall employees I make it a point to spend that time with high achievers.
